Honey Bee

You all should know by now how much I enjoy making homemade cosmetic and beauty products in my spare time and this weekend is no different. In less than 15 minutes I made a moisturising, protective and antibacterial lip balm to ward off any lip nasties and the dreaded chapped lip! With the winter months and cold weather already upon us here is all the ingredients you need:

2 tsp of Virgin Coconut Oil- I brought mine from Coconut Merchant, you can purchase it here, it smells incredible

1 tsp of Shea Butter- I got this from a local hair shop
1/2 tsp of Honey- from a local supermarket
1 tsp of grated Beeswax (holds the mixture together)- purchased on Ebay here
x 2 Old and clean vaseline tins or carmex containers

In a double boiler (I put a old, clean honey jar in a pot of boiling water) let the beeswax melt down until only a small amount is still solid, then mix in the honey, coconut oil and shea butter. Whilst the mixture is still liquid pour into your clean lip balm tins/tubes, let it cool down and in roughly 5 minutes the liquid should have solidified and voila!

You should be left with a smooth, long lasting lip balm and kissable lips MWAH!

RR xx

p.s. it tastes nice too!
